'DIGITAL SNOWFLAKE' by Sally Roberts
The Digital Snowflake was commissioned by
Haverhill Town Council in the winter of 2002.
Multi@rts Digital Media Development Worker
and artist Sally Roberts produced the digital
animation. The Digital Snowflake is a short 2D
computer animation telling the story of a
snowflake's journey on a winters day.
Sally worked with the Haverhill History Centre
to access past and present images of
Haverhill's historic surroundings.
These photographs were used a resource to
create the scenery in the animation.
The soundtrack was also composed digitally
by Sally Roberts and local musician Stewart
Champion. Made to complement the dance of
the snowflake and give magical atmosphere
as perceived in childhood memories. This piece
is aimed at everyone who has felt or still sees
the magic of winter.
